I have had two yorkies trained at two different times by Scott at K9 Ponderosa.  The first time was about 12 years ago -- when I purchased by little yorkie from a pet store where Scott gave two free lessons to those people who purchased a puppy.  I was so impressed with Scott's skills as a dog trainer, that when the two lessons were over, I decided to pursue further training with him.  My puppy stayed about a week and I was amazed how much she had learned in that time frame.  She was a happy dog and took quickly to Scott's training skills.  Sadly she passed last year.  I purchased another puppy last December -- and her personality is different from my first yorkie.  I decided after several months that she needed a professional dog trainer to be able to take her personality and abilities and help make her a better-trained dog.  I contacted Scott and we set up a date for her to be trained at his facility in Delaware.  I dropped her off and she was there about 17 days and Scott periodically sent me e-mails and photos telling me of her progress and/or her need for follow-up.  She learned some basic skills with Scott and he was able to conform some of her previous behavior into learning skills.   I wish I could have left her there longer -- Scott has a way of calming dogs and reading their behavior and making them want to listen and follow his instructions.  My little one is much better now -- she is listening better and we are working together on the skills that Scott taught each of us.  I highly recommend anyone thinking of having someone train their dog, to seek out Scott -- they will be amazed at his kindness, his ability to bond with dogs he is training and his skill -- he makes it look easy.  His bond with each dog he trains is evident -- they trust him, they focus on him when he instructs them to do a skill he has taught them -- and they want to please him -- that speaks volumes to me as a dog owner as to his ability to teach/train dogs.  Dogs never forget Scott for when they see him afterwards, they immediately run to him for a "good girl" or "good boy" praise they know they will get from him.  He's the best dog trainer around -- just ask his clients -- and his dog friends.
